Miffy Lost at the Beach

One bright day, the doorbell at Miffy's house rang.
Grandpa and Grandma Bunny had come to visit.
"Hello, Miffy!" said Grandma Bunny.
"We thought we would come and visit in your house, but as it is such a lovely and warm day, we thought we could take you to the beach

instead."
"Oh, how wonderful!" shouted Miffy. "I would love to show you the beach."
"What a nice idea!" said Mother Bunny.
"I will pack you a nice lunch so you can have a picnic. And you can tell Miffy what the beach was like when you were young."
Father Bunny said, "I will drive you to the beach in our car."
So off they went in Father Bunny's car.

When they arrived, Grandpa Bunny said, "When we were young, we used to make castles in the sand. Perhaps we can make some more today."
"Yes!" said Father Bunny. "I remember making sandcastles, too. We can all make some together."
"I did it, too" said Grandma Bunny. "I remember that the sand must be wet."
So Miffy picked up her bucket and went down close to the water.
She filled the bucket the wet sand and brought it up to where the others were sitting.
Miffy had to do it many times because it took lots of sand to make a proper castle.

How beautiful it was! And just as the castle was finished, along came Melanie, Miffy's bunny friend.
"Would you like to play ball with me, Miffy?" asked Melanie.
"Oh, yes!" said Miffy.
"Don't go too Far." said Father Bunny. "You might get lost."
"We won't get lost, Father." said Miffy. "Because we know that you will be where the castle is."
So Miffy and Melanie run off kicking the ball along the beach.
Soon they were quite far away.

Meanwhile the water was slowly rising up the beach.
"Oh, dear!" said Grandma Bunny. "The water is coming very close to our castle. We'd better move back a bit."
And sure enough, soon the water came and washed away the whole castle.

Miffy and Melanie got tired and started to go back.
"Where is your family, Miffy?" asked Melanie.
"I can't see them." "Don't worry, Melanie!" said Miffy. "They are right by our sandcastle."
But Miffy looked and looked and she didn't see the sandcastle.
She didn't know that the seawater washed it away.
She and Melanie walked and walked along the beach.
"Where is the castle?" said Miffy. "Maybe we really are lost, Melanie."

"Miffy! Melanie! We are here! The sea came up and washed our castle away."
"It's nice that our houses are not made of sand." said Miffy.
They were all very happy to be together again.

Miffy's Colorful World

Miffy loved colors.
She looked out of her window to see which color she could spot.
She saw that the sky was blue and that the grass was green.
She saw red flowers and yellow flowers in her garden.
She looked at her hands. "I am white." she said.
"And I'm wearing a blue dress."
"Isn’t it good that we have so many different colors." she thought.
Just then the doorbell rung. It was Melanie.
"Hello, Melanie!" said Miffy.
"Hello, Miffy!" said Melanie.
"I'm going to the playground. Do you want come with me?"
"Oh, yes!" said Miffy. And the two little bunnies went off together.

On the way to the playground they walked past Poppy Pig's house.
Poppy Pig's house was red with a green roof.
There were some bright yellow flowers growing in the window box.
There was Poppy just coming from her garden.
She had a wheel ballow full of flesh orange carrots.
"Hello, Poppy!" said Miffy.
"Hello, Miffy! Hello, Melanie!" said Poppy.
"What a colorful house you have, Poppy?” said Melanie.
"Thank you." said Poppy Pig. "Isn't it cheerful?"
"Yes, it's lovely." said Miffy.

Miffy and Melanie wave to Poppy and walked on.
When they arrived at the playground, Miffy and Melanie played on the yellow swing.
They slid down the blue slide.
They went round and round on the red merry-go-round.
Miffy said to Melanie "Look! There are so many different colors everywhere."
"Oh, yes." said Melanie.
"Isn’t that fun? And you are white and I am brown. We are different colors, too."
"We are different colors. But we are really the same." said Miffy.
"Yes." agreed Melanie.
"We just two bunny girls. One white and one brown."
Two friends laughed when they thought of all the different colors.
"There are different colors everywhere we look." said Miffy.
They saw a green bird and blue one and brightly colored butterflies.

All around the playground there were colorful flowers.
But as they began to walk home, clouds began to gather.
The blue sky turned to gray.
"Oh, dear! I'm afraid it's going to rain." said Miffy.
"We'd better hurry."
But then a bit of sunlight appeared.
And the two friends saw the most colorful sight of all.
"A rainbow!" shouted Miffy.
They both thought what a beautiful colorful world it is.

It was a lovely summer day and Miffy asked her mother and father if her friend
Grunty could stay with her over night.
"Yes!" said her mother. "And it's worm enough for you both to sleep in a tent in
our back garden."
"Oh, that will be fun!" said Miffy happily.
Farther Bunny said he would take her to Poppy Pig's house to collect her little
niece Grunty.
Off they went in Farther Bunny's car to Poppy Pig's house.

"Hello, Poppy!" said Farther Bunny.
"Miffy would like to invite Grunty to stay with her tonight.
You can pack her things and I will drive her to our house."
Soon they were driving back to Miffy's house and the two young girls were very
excited about sleeping in a tent.

When they arrived at Miffy's house, her mother had already set up a tent.
"It will be such fun, Grunty!" said Miffy.
"I hope you are not afraid of the dark."
"I won't be scared if you are with me, Miffy?" said Grunty.
The two little girls snuggled inside their sleeping bags inside the dark tent.

"What is that sound?" whispered Grunty. "I'm scared."
"It's only the crickets." whispered Miffy.
"They always jump at night. You mustn't be afraid of them."

"What is that?" whispered Grunty, who was really afraid.
"That's just an owl who always sits in the tree at night," whispered Miffy.
"You mustn't be afraid of her."
Grunty was afraid and she said "Why don't we move the tent to Poppy's house
tomorrow? I'm used to the sounds in her garden."
And two little friends snuggled close to each other and finally fell asleep.

When the morning came, they woke up.
And Mother Bunny brought them breakfast.
"Did you sleep well?" Mother Bunny asked them.
"Grunty was afraid of the sounds in our garden, Mother.
Can we move the tent to Poppy's house tonight?"
That evening Farther Bunny packed up the tent and drove the two girls to
Poppy's house.

"Can we put up a tent in your garden tonight?" Father Bunny asked.
“Grunty feels she would be more comfortable sleeping in your garden. Miffy is a
very brave little bunny so I don't think she will be afraid."
"Off course!" said Poppy.
Later that night the two friends were tacked into their tent in Poppy's garden.

Grunty was at home and fell asleep right away but not Miffy.
She heard noises.
"Oh, dear!" whispered Miffy, who was scared.
"Now, I am afraid. What is that sound? Wake up, Grunty!
There's a strange noise I've never heard before."

Grunty began to laugh.
"That's just my aunt Poppy snoring. I hear that all the time."
Now both girls started to laughed.
They laughed and laughed and until they both fell asleep.

about what they could find.

When Miffy arrived home, Father Bunny was in the garden.
“Father!” she said. “Our teacher wants each of us to bring something from
nature to school. What do you think I should bring?”
"Well, just look around you, Miffy. Right here in our garden there was nature
all around us."
Miffy looked and she saw a bright red apple. She saw birds flying in the sky.
She saw a warm crawling out of the ground. She saw some beautiful stones.
And off course there were many flowers all around.
She didn't know what she should choose.
Her father said, "In the morning why don't you pick a nice red apple?
After you show it to your class, you can eat it for lunch.”
Miffy thought that was clever idea.

In the morning she went out into the garden and just she was about to
pick the apple, a beautiful butterfly landed right on her arm.
"That's it!" whispered Miffy. "I bring this beautiful butterfly to my class."
She walked slowly and quietly towards her school very carefully not to
frighten the butterfly.
"Good morning, Snuffy!" whispered Miffy.
"You can walk along beside me, but you must be very quiet.”
Snuffy wagged her tail happily.
She gave a little bark and the butterfly flew away. Miffy was very sad.

Everyone else in the class had brought interesting things.
Melanie had found an empty bird’s nest.
Winnie brought some bright colorful leaves.
Aggie had a beautiful stone.
They each had something from nature, but Miffy had nothing.

Then Snuffy, who was waiting outside the school door, gave another happy bark.
And Miffy suddenly had an idea.
She raised her hand. "Please, Miss!" she said.

"Yes." she said.
"She is my good friend, Snuffy. Isn't a dog a wonderful part of nature?"
All other bunnies laughed and so did the teacher.
"Yes, you are right. Snuffy is a lovely little dog and she is certainly
an important part of nature. Bring her in."

where she grows plenty of carrots."
"If you run down to Poppy Pig’s house, I'm sure she will give you some of
her juicy carrots."

She was eating the very last carrot from her garden.
"Those carrots were so delicious. I just couldn't resist them.

"Hello, Poppy!" said Miffy.
"I came because I would love to taste some of your wonderful carrots."
Poppy felt awful that she had just eaten her very last carrot.
"Oh, dear!" she said. "I don't have a single carrot left today.
If I plant more carrot seeds now, they won't be ready to eat for weeks."

Just then Auntie Alice arrived carrying two heavy baskets.
"Hello, Miffy! Hello, Poppy! I bought all the carrots in the market this morning. Because I'm
going to do something very special with them, and you are both invited for a carrot dinner.
You can bring some friends," she said and off she went on her way home.

Then Boris and Barbara Bear came walking by.
Miffy and Poppy told them that Auntie Alice was preparing a carrot dinner for them.

"My Auntie Alice makes such good dinners from carrots."

All that afternoon, Auntie Alice was busy in her kitchen.
Early that evening Boris Bear was just about to enjoy a large sandwich.
"Boris!" cried Barbara. "What are you doing? You know that we are invited
Auntie Alice's house for a carrot dinner tonight. And it's nearly time to leave."
"Yes, but I don't like carrots," said Boris.
"Neither do I!" said Barbara. "But perhaps if we're hungry enough, we will.
Now leave that sandwich and let's go!"

As they aproached Auntie Alice's house, they smelled something delicious.
"That smells wonderful!" said Barbara.
"It can't be carrots," said Boris. "Maybe she's cooking something else."
When everybody was ready for dinner, Auntie Alice served them carrot soup,
carrot bread, carrot pie and carrot juice.
"Come on, try a bit!" said Auntie Alice.
Boris and Barbara Bear enjoyed every bit of Auntie Alice's dinner.
"Here is a carrot surprise for dessert," said Auntie Alice.
"Hurray!" shouted Boris.
What a great carrot feast!
On the way home Boris said to Barbara, "That was a delicious meal.
Let's plant lots and lots of carrots in our garden!"

Then she gave a happy little bark and ran off towards Poppy Pig's house.

Soon Snuffy began to get tired and sleepy.

In a little while Miffy came home from school and saw Snuffy lying there.
Snuffy didn't move at all. Miffy was very worried.
"Snuffy! Snuffy!" she called but Snuffy still did not move.

But just then Snuffy opened her eyes and sniffed.
"Look!" said Boris. "Snuffy smells the food in our shopping bag.
She was just very tired, Miffy. But as soon as she smells good food, she wakes up again."
"Here is a biscuit for you, Snuffy," said Barbara.
After her sleep and a biscuit, Snuffy was ready to run and run again.
Miffy was happy to see that Snuffy was just fine.

Mother Bunny gave Miffy a basket and said, "Shall I write a list for you?"

As she walked along Miffy met Poppy Pig who was also carrying a basket.

"Chocolate, butter, flour," said Miffy.
"You're trying to remember something you need," said Poppy.
"Me, too. I'm on my way to the shops. I must remember to buy some vanilla, cream and flour."
"I'm on my way to Auntie Alice's house to borrow some chocolate, cream and flour," said Miffy.
"It's good that you can remember what you need," said Poppy.
"Vanilla, cream, flour... vanilla, cream, flour... vanilla, cream..."

Then Miffy saw Barbara Bear. "Good morning, Miffy!" said Barbara Bear.
"I just came from the shop and I bought some potatoes, milk and sugar."
"That's interesting!" said Miffy. "I'm just on my way to my Auntie Alice's house to borrow
some vanilla, cream and sugar."

Where is the chocolate? Where is the butter? Where is the flour?"
"Ah, dear!" said Miffy. "I'm sorry. I got all mixed up. Now there will be no chocolate cake
for my father's birthday."
"Don't cry, Miffy dear." said her mother. "With the vanilla, cream and sugar,
I can make some wonderful birthday ice cream."
That evening when they all sat down for the birthday dinner, Father Bunny said,
"This vanilla ice cream is delicious. What a splendid idea!"
Mother gave Miffy a wink. And they all enjoyed the birthday ice cream.

There was a lot of work to be done.
The whole garden was covered with fallen leaves.
Poppy's niece Grunty was sitting near by reading a book.
"Can you come and help me, please Grunty?" asked Poppy Pig.
"Oh, Poppy," said Grunty. "I'm so tired."
"How can you be tired?" asked Poppy.
"You haven't done anything all day except read that book.
So please, come and help me! You can rake all the leaves into a heap."

"May I help you?" said Miffy. "I see that You have a lot of work to do."
"Oh, yes," said Grunty. "We would be very happy if you could help us."
"Oh, yes please," said Poppy. "Grunty said she's too tired to do any work.
Perhaps you'll find that doing the work together is more fun."
"I like to rake leaves," said Miffy. "They make such a nice crunchy sound.
Grunty and Miffy raked the leaves together. The pile became bigger and bigger.
"What's great fun..." said Miffy, "is to jump on the pile of leaves and sink right down inside.
I will show you."

And Poppy Pig said, "But Grunty, I thought you were too tired."
"Yes, I was. But I'm not any more," said Grunty.
So she promised to go and help Mother Bunny because...
"Raking leaves really is a lot of fun!"

"Good morning, Poppy!" said Miffy. "Where did you get that beautiful tree?"
"Boris gave it to me, Miffy," said Poppy. "Christmas is coming.
And I asked him if he could find me a nice tree."
"What a good idea!" thought Miffy. "We will also need a Christmas tree."
Miffy went inside and asked her mother.
"May I go into the forest to ask Boris Bear to find us a Christmas tree?"
"Yes, Miffy. But you must be home in time for lunch."
So off she went across the meadow and into the forest.
When she arrived at Boris and Barbara's house,
they were already decorating their own tree for Christmas.
"Hello, Boris!" said Miffy. "And a Merry Christmas to you and Barbara.
I would like to ask you if you can find a nice Christmas tree for our family?"
"Yes, I can," said Boris. "But you know I mustn't cut down a forest tree.
I can dig all up for you, and then put it into a pot, so the tree can stay alive for next year."

In the morning Miffy was on her way to school and little Snuffy was running along with her.
When they arrived at school, there was Boris with a very big tree for the school yard.
"Hello, Miffy!" said Boris. "This is the tree that you said too big for your house.
But I thought it would be just perfect for your school."
The school teacher and all the children were very pleased to have such a wonderful tree
for their school.
All the children were soon at work making decorations for their new tree.
It was going to be so beautiful.
Then Boris knocked on the window. "I have another surprise for you, Miffy.
I also brought the tiny tree. I think it would be a perfect for Snuffy."
"How wonderful!" said Miffy. "Snuffy's own special Christmas tree to put near her dog house!"
All the school children were happy with their big tree
At Christmas Miffy and her parents were happy with their medium sized tree.
And little Snuffy was very very happy with her very own tiny tree.

Miffy forgot all about the time. Suddenly the telephone rung.

"Oh, dear!" said Miffy. "I had such a good time with you, Poppy. But I must leave."
Miffy put on her coat and her scarf.
She was ready to say good bye to Poppy when she remembered her promise to her mother.
"Can I take some biscuits home to my mother, please?" she asked Poppy.
"Off course!" Poppy put some of the biscuits into a little bag and placed it
in the basket of Miffy's scooter. "Do be careful riding home on your scooter, Miffy."
When Miffy began to ride home, it started to snow. She scooted along as careful as she could.
In a short while there was so much snow that it became quite slippy.
And when she tried to ride down a little hill... Boom!
Miffy wasn't heart, but she decided to walk with her scooter the lest of the way home.

Then she saw Miffy. "What a relief!" She quickly opened the door.

"I started to ride. Then I skidded and fell off my scooter.
So I decided to walk the lest of the way. I wasn't hurt at all.
I brought you some of Poppy's biscuits." Miffy looked inside the bag.
"Where were the biscuits?"
"Oh, dear!" said Miffy.
"When I fell down, all of the biscuits got broken. Now there's nothing in the bag but crumbs."
Just then Father Bunny came home. "Hello, everyone," he said.
"There is lovely snow everywhere. It's a perfect time for a sledge ride."
"Oh, no!" said Mother Bunny. "That's way too much cold for me. I prefer my warm oven.
I'll bake a fresh batch of your favorite biscuits." They all laughed.
Then while Mother Bunny was busy in the kitchen, Miffy enjoyed to ride on the sledge.

Then Boris pointed to a medium sized tree. "Do you think this one will do?" he asked.
"Yes!" said Miffy. "That's a lovely one. Can you dig that one up for me, please?"
So Boris dug up the tree being very careful not to damage its roots.
"I will bring it to your house tomorrow."
Miffy was home just in time for lunch.
And she told her mother about the lovely tree that Boris was going to bring them.
The next evening Miffy and her mother and her father were busy decorating the tree.
It looked so beautiful and even had flushing lights.

In Grandpa Bunny's workshop there were hammers and a saw and other special tools,
"Will you show me how to make something with your tools, Grandpa?" asked Miffy.
Grandma Bunny was surprised. "I thought I teach you how to bake a cake today," she said.
There were so many interesting things to do when Miffy visited her grandparents
that Miffy didn't know which to do first.
"Well, some little bunnies like to learn how to sew or do things in the kitchen,"
said Grandpa. "But they can also learn how to make things with tools."
"In fact it's the same thing," said Grandma Bunny.
"Whether you bake a cake or make a bookshelf, you have to put certain things together."
"I know what to do!" said Miffy.
"I will bake a cake and I will make a wooden box to put the cake in."
"That's a wonderful idea!" said Grandpa Bunny.
"First you can make the cake, and then we will know how big to make the box."
"I will bring it home to Mother and Father as a present," said Miffy.

Miffy went into the kitchen with her Grandma.
She began to put together everything she would need to make a cake.
"First we must measure the right amount of flour and shifted into a mixing bowl,"
said Grandma Bunny. "Then we must prepare the eggs, milk, sugar and chocolate powder
in just the right amounts and mix them together."
Miffy used special measuring cups to be sure she used the right amount of each ingredient.
It was all written in Grandma's cookery book.
When everything was mixed together, the cake mixture was ready to be baked.
Miffy poured the mixture into a special round cake tin.
She measured the tin with Grandma's ruler. Then it went into the hot oven.

Now Miffy was ready to make the box for the cake.
She told her Grandpa how big the cake would be.
And He showed her how to use the same ruler to measure the wood for the box.
She marked the wood at just the right length and used one of Grandpa's clamps
to hold each piece to his work bench.

The clamp held the wood steady so Grandpa could saw each plank to the right size.
Miffy liked to see Grandpa working with the saw back and forth and back and forth
until it cut right through the wood.
Now she had pieces wood for the bottom and top of the box and for the four sides.
She used a hammer and some nails. And together they nailed all of the pieces together.
Just as the box was finished, Miffy smelt something delicious in the air.
"The cake is ready!" called Grandma Bunny from her kitchen. "It has finished baking."
What a beautiful cake! And how lovely it smelt when Grandma took it out the oven!
"Look!" said Grandpa Bunny. "It fits perfectly."
When Miffy arrived home that day, she was a very proud little bunny.
She had learnt that careful work and putting the right things together
could make a delicious cake or beautiful box.
Father Bunny and Mother Bunny were very proud of her.

Who do you think came along to help her? It was Snuffy the dog.

And when she saw Miffy trying so hard to push and roll a big snowball,
she ran up and helped her. They pushed and pushed together.
As the snowball rolled along, it picked up more and more snow.
It got bigger and bigger. "That's big enough for the snow bunny's body," said Miffy.
"Now we can roll a smaller snowball for this snow bunny's head."
Miffy made a little snowball with her hands.
Snuffy was able to push it along with her nose. But when it got bigger,
Miffy joined in the pushing until it was big enough to be the snow bunny's head.
"Now we must put it on top of the big snowball," said Miffy.
No matter how they tried, they could not lift the heavy snowball.

Just then Miffy's friend Boris Bear arrived.
"Hello, Miffy," said Boris. "What are you doing?"
"We are trying to make a giant snow bunny," said Miffy.
"But its head is too heavy and we can't lift it."
"I have an idea, Miffy," said Boris. "I was taking these planks to my work shop.
But we can use them to make a ramp to the top of the big snowball."
Boris placed the planks against the snow bunny's body.
The planks made a perfect ramp right to the top of it.
Now they could role the smaller snowball up the ramp.
It was still hard work, but it was not so hard as lifting it would be.
There it was. At last the snow bunny's head was resting right on top of its body.

Then Miffy went to find sticks to make the ears.
She stuck the two sticks into the top of the head.
"They don't look like bunny's ears?" said Miffy.
She had an idea. She packed snow firmly around one stick.

Snuffy ran off over the snow and returned with two rubber balls she often played with.
Miffy laughed. She pushed the balls into the snow bunny's head.
"Now he has eyes," said Miffy. "He can see what a wonderful job it is!
It was all with your help, Snuffy and Boris. You are such clever friends."
Finally Miffy added it a carrot to make the snow bunny's nose.
Now the snow bunny was complete.

She ran ahead much faster than Miffy. Miffy had to ride very carefully.
When she went over a very large bump, she didn't notice that the bag of biscuits had fallen out.
When Miffy arrived at Boris and Barbara's house, Snuffy was already there.
Miffy wanted to give Barbara her present. But she realized that it had gone.
"I wanted to bring you some of Mother's freshly baked biscuits," she said to Barbara.
"But I have lost them somewhere in the forest."
"Never mind," said Barbara. "I baked some biscuits, too.
So we can still have a nice little feast." And so they did.

"Snuffy? Snuffy?" she called. "Where are you?"

Now Miffy was beginning to get a bit worried. "Snuffy? Snuffy?..."
Certainly Miffy saw the bag that her mother had filled with biscuits.
"Oh!" she said. "At least I found the biscuits."
But when she picked up the bag, it was empty. There were no biscuits inside.
Then she heard the little sound from behind the tree and went to see what it was.
And there was Snuffy sound asleep with just a few biscuit crams next to her on the ground .
"So there you are, Snuffy!" said Miffy. "I see that you had a nice feast on your way home."

"But because of the wind is blowing so hard, it will be difficult to put out the tent."
They worked together and soon the tent was up.
And they put all of their things inside to protect them from the wind.
"That was difficult," said Miffy. "But it's very cozy inside here."
"Yes, Miffy," said Father Bunny. "I think we deserve a biscuit now.
But we must eat them quickly before everything gets covered with sand."
When the biscuits were finished , Miffy and her father went out to play with the ball.
But the wind was too strong. "Oh, no!" cried Miffy. "My ball will blow into the water."
But Father Bunny was able to stop the ball just in time.
"Throwing the ball is too difficult in this wind," he said.

So Miffy went inside the tent and brought out her beautiful red kite.
"OK, Miffy," said her father. "I will hold the kite up high,

And if you hold on tight to the string, the kite will fly up in the air."
A strong gust of wind blew, and Father released the kite.
And it flew high up into the air. The red kite looked beautiful against the blue sky.
But the wind was very strong, and the kite danced this way and that in the air.
It was hard for little Miffy to hold on to the string.
She was afraid that the wind would lift her off the ground and up into the air.
"Hold on tight, Miffy!" shouted her father. "I'm coming to help you."
But it was too late. The kite hit the ground so hard that it was broken and toned.
"Oh, dear," cried Miffy. "My lovely kite is smashed..."

Miffy's mother made some worm cabbage soup for them. Then Miffy went to bed.
She was very tired after her big adventure at the beach.
Mother Bunny said to Father Bunny, "Do you think you can repair the kite?"
"I will try," said Father Bunny.
The next morning when Miffy woke up, she blinked her eyes in astonishment.
There, at the end of her bed, was her beautiful red kite as good as new.
"My father is so clever," she thought.

a nice red apple from the tree in her garden.
She knew she would be later still but ran back home to get the apple.
But Miffy could not reach the apple in the tree.

Father Bunny tried very hard to open it again.
"I forgot to mend the umbrella, Miffy," Father Bunny said.

インフルエンザは一応治ったんですが、中耳炎になってしまい、
今はそちらがつらいです。プールに入ったままみたいな感じで。

Soon the merry-go-round slowed down. Miffy and Aggie were a little dizzy.
Snuffy still wanted to play. And she was almost able to climb to the top of the slide.

"Oh, dear!" said Miffy. "Are you hurt, Snuffy? The slide is not really for dogs, you know.

"No, no, Snuffy," called out Miffy. "You must be careful, Snuffy. Slides are not for dogs."
But then Snuffy did an amazing thing.
She sat down and slid right down the slide and landed softly on the pile of sand at the bottom.
"You did it!" cried Aggie. "You did it!" cried Miffy. "You're such a smart little dog, Snuffy!"

“Step into your new wagon, Miffy! And I will pull you home.”

"Boris is so clever," said Father Bunny. "Did you remember to thank him?"
"Oh, yes!" said Boris. "Miffy thanked me very politely.
It was pleasure to make the little bed for her."
Then it was time to ride home in Father Bunny's car.
Father carefully put the bed on the backseat of the car and lay teddy bear in it.
Snuffy jumped next to it and Miffy got into the car as well.
They waved goodbye to Boris and Barbara and set off her home.

At last she and Grunty arrived. Then Miffy, Aggie and Poppy began to play a three-part-melody.
But little Grunty had nothing to play and that was no fun for her.
"We have no real piano, Grunty," said Miffy.
"But I do have a nice toy piano. I'm sure you can make it sound wonderful."
Now they could all play together. How wonderful it sounded!

They picked and picked. Soon their baskets were full of fresh ripe blueberries.

They had a wonderful time.

Every Saturday up and down and round they went.
They jumped and turned and posed always keeping in time with the piano.
It was hard work. But it was great fun. Miffy tried to move and stand gracefully.
It made her feel good about herself.

Father Bunny made sure their car was safe for the long mountain trip.
Off they went over beautiful hills, through the woods, and then up into the mountains.

Miffy and her parents made a snowman. Then they had fun throwing snowballs.

The two little girls snuggled inside their sleeping bags inside the dark tent.

"What is that sound?" whispered Grunty. "I'm scared."
"It's only the crickets." whispered Miffy. "They always jump at night. You mustn't be afraid of them."
"What is that?" whispered Grunty, who was really afraid.
"That's just an owl who always sits in the tree at night," whispered Miffy. "You mustn't be afraid of her."
Grunty was afraid and she said "Why don't we move the tent to Poppy's house tomorrow?
I'm used to the sounds in her garden."
And two little friends snuggled close to each other and finally fell asleep.

Later that night the two friends were tucked into their tent in Poppy's garden.
Grunty was at home and fell asleep right away but not Miffy. She heard noises.
"Oh, dear!" whispered Miffy, who was scared. "Now, I am afraid. What is that sound?
Wake up, Grunty! There's a strange noise I've never heard before."
Grunty began to laugh. "That's just my aunt Poppy snoring. I hear that all the time."
Now both girls started to laugh. They laughed and laughed and until they both fell asleep.

あの歌、日本語音声とのギャップが激しいですねw
たぶん米語版 Miffy and friends からの採録だと思います。
実は、NHKで放送されている本編はイギリス英語なのに、主題歌は違うんです。なぜかは謎。

米語版と英語版は、どちらも一人でやり切ってますが、

英版はすべて声色を使い分けてます。シナリオも、ところどころ微妙に違います。
そして日本語音声は、声優さんが複数みたいですね。お国柄が出ています。

“That’s a great idea, Miffy,” said her teacher.
The teacher handed out paper, pencils and paints. Soon everybody was busy drawing.
Miffy drew a lovely flower. Melanie made some drawings of sea shells.
Aggie drew a fish. Winnie drew a boat with flags on it.

Aggie painted her fish with blue and yellow stripes.

“Neither do I,” said Winnie.
“But we need lots more pictures to cover the wall,” said Miffy.
“Come on, Children,” said the teacher. “It’s a lovely day outside.
Bring your drawing things and let’s go outdoors.
You’ll find many things to draw if you look around.”
Soon the children were looking all over the playground.
Miffy found some more colorful flowers to draw.
Melanie drew a picture of a tiny red butterfly.
And Winnie made a drawing of a very large tree.
There were many different things to draw outside.

At the end of the afternoon the children had made lots of different drawings.
The teacher was very happy with all the new pictures for the wall.
But would they all fit?
“We must be careful to put all of the paintings close together
so that there’ll be enough room of them,” she said. But there was not enough room.
And some of the children was disappointed that their paintings were not on the wall.
Melanie raised her hand. “I have an idea,” she said.
“Why don’t we change the paintings everyday
so that everyone can have a chance to put their painting on the wall?”
“What a good idea, Melanie,” said the teacher. “That’s what we shall do.
And that way we can make even more drawings.” All the children cheered.
Miffy said, “Now it would be more fun and ever to study here.” And this was true.
Everyday the classroom always decorated with different beautiful paintings.

“Yes, I can, Miffy,” said Boris. “They will make lovely gifts.”
So they went out to Boris’s workshop to find some nice wood to make the frames with.
While they were busy, a breeze blew through the house.
“Oh, dear!” said Miffy. “Where are all of my leaves?”
“That’s funny,” said Barbara. “But look, Miffy. We still have six leaves left.
One, two, three, four, five, six. That will be plenty,” said Barbara.
“Let’s go and finish the picture frames.”

But as they went finished the picture frames, a bird flew in and took away another leaf.
“My goodness!” said Barbara. “We had six leaves left, and now we only have five.”
Boris quickly closed the window. “We don’t want to lose any more of these beautiful leaves.
I had made five frames. So we need five leaves.”
“Well,” said Miffy, “I think that we still have enough.”
So they put the five leaves into the five frames.
“Look how beautiful they are!” said Miffy. “You and Barbara shall have one.”
“Thank you, Miffy,” said Boris, and put the framed leaf on the wall.
“You still have four frames to give as presents.”
With the four framed leaves packed in the shopping bag, Miffy began to walk home.

“Hello, Miffy,” said Poppy. “What are you carrying?”
“I found some beautiful leaves in the forest. And Boris Bear made five frames for them.

“Oh, yes please!” said Poppy. “May have a red one?”
“Of course you can,” said Miffy. “If you take this one, I will still have three frames left.”
“Thank you, Miffy,” said Poppy. “It’s beautiful.”
When Miffy arrived home, she said, “Look, Father! Look, Mother!
I found some lovely leaves in the forest. And Boris Bear made some frames for them.
I would like to give one to each of you.”
Her mother and father were very pleased and hung the framed leaves on the wall.
Miffy still had one frame left. “I’ll do something very special with this one.” said Miffy.

Miffy said, “I have lots of pictures on the wall. I have my cupboard and my bed and my shelf.
Can’t we just paint around them?”
“That’s where we do it all.” said Mother Bunny.
“We must take everything out of the room so we can paint the walls evenly.”
“Very well,” said Miffy, “I will help. First I will take all of my pictures off the wall.
But I can’t move my bed, all the cupboard, all the shelf.”
“Your mother and I will move the heavy things, Miffy.
You can think of what colour you would like to paint your room.
I have lots of different colour paints in my workshop."
So while her mother and father were carrying everything out of her room,
Miffy began to think about what colour she would like her room to be.

“If it were blue, it might seem like it’s always night time,” she thought.
“If it were red, it might look too hot.
If it were green, it might look like my room was outside in the garden.
If it were white, it would be the same colour with me, and I might be lost inside it.”
Miffy looked out of her window and noticed a bright yellow tulip.
“If my room were yellow like that tulip, it would be sunny and bright.
I would like my room to be yellow,” said Miffy finally.
Father Bunny said, “I have some lovely yellow paint. I will paint the high parts of the wall, Miffy.
And you can paint the low parts. You will be able to learn how to paint.”
Mother said, “First you must put on an apron, Miffy. It would be a pity to get paint on your lovely dress.”
So Miffy put on an apron, and her father very carefully mixed the bright yellow paint.
He took a big brush and he gave Miffy a small brush. Then they set to work.
"Miffy!" said Father Bunny, “Try to paint up and down in the same direction like this.”
Miffy learnt very quickly. Soon the room was a lovely happy yellow colour.
And Miffy’s things were soon back in their place. Miffy felt happy, too. Her room felt fresh, bright and clean.
“It’s a nice feeling,” she said, “to have a freshly painted room. And that I helped to do it.”

She picked it up and carried it to the kitchen table.
"Well, here’s this morning’s newspaper," said Mother Bunny.
"And here is a letter for me from your Auntie Alice. And look, Miffy!
Here is a pretty postcard addressed to you from your friend Melanie."
"How exciting!" said Miffy. Her friend Melanie was on holiday with her parents.
The postcard had a pretty postage stamp on it.

I would like to send a postcard back to Melanie. And I will draw a picture of me on it," said Miffy.
"Here is a postcard you can use," said Miffy’s mother.
"You can also draw some other pictures on it for Melanie.
Why don't you draw a picture of our little house?”
So Miffy took the postcard and her pencil outside and looked carefully at her house.
"Yes,” she thought, "My drawing looks just like our house."

She made the flower red and the leaves green. She coloured the butterfly yellow.
She left the drawing of herself white and coloured the drawing of Melanie brown.
They looked very pretty together. Miffy put a stamp on her postcard.
Then she walked to the postbox and carefully pushed her postcard into the postbox.
When she walked home, Miffy thought, "The post is a wonderful thing.
We can be together with our friends, even when we are far away from each other."
And indeed, Melanie was delighted with her postcard.

"Boris gave it to me, Miffy," said Poppy. "Christmas is coming.
And I asked him if he could find me a nice tree."
"What a good idea!" thought Miffy. "We will also need a Christmas tree."
Miffy went inside and asked her mother.
"May I go into the forest to ask Boris Bear to find us a Christmas tree?"
"Yes, Miffy. But you must be home in time for lunch."
So off she went across the meadow and into the forest.
When she arrived at Boris and Barbara's house,
they were already decorating their own tree for Christmas.
"Hello, Boris!" said Miffy. "And a Merry Christmas to you and Barbara.
I would like to ask you if you can find a nice Christmas tree for our family."
"Yes, I can," said Boris. "But you know I mustn't cut down a forest tree.
I can dig all up for you, and then put it into a pot, so the tree can stay alive for next year."

"I will bring it to your house tomorrow."
Miffy was home just in time for lunch.
And she told her mother about the lovely tree that Boris was going to bring them.
The next evening Miffy and her mother and her father were busy decorating the tree.
It looked so beautiful and even had flushing lights.

"It's the magic of nature," said her teacher.
"Everything living starts from a tiny seed. In the seed is everything that can help it to become a flower.
When we put it in the ground, we must water it so that it grows."

Everyday Miffy watched her pot.
First a very tiny bit of green showed above the black soil. Then small leaves began to form.

That evening while Miffy was helping her mother with the dishes,
she told her how wonderful it was to see a flower grow from a tiny black seed.
"Yes," said Mother Bunny. "Tomorrow your father will plant some seeds
and you will see flowers grow again right here in our own garden."
Miffy was so excited that she dropped a cup, and it broke into pieces.
"Oh, dear," said Miffy. "I'm so sorry, Mother. I broke one of our lovely cups."
She began to cry. But Mother Bunny said, "Don't cry, Miffy dear. I know it was just an accident."
The next day Miffy thought, "If a lovely flower can grow from a little seed,
perhaps if I plant a piece of the cup in the ground, and new one will grow."

Gradually many beautiful flowers appeared, but no cups.
Miffy's father and mother knew that Miffy was disappointed. So Father Bunny had an idea.
When he came for that evening, he had bought a new cup.
While Miffy was sleeping, he buried the new cup where Miffy put the broken piece.
In the morning, Father said, "Miffy, I think something is really coming up where you planted the broken cup."
Miffy ran outside as fast as she could go.
Surely enough there was a bright, yellow cup handle was sticking up out of the ground.
Miffy pulled it out and was very surprised.
"I know that only living things can grow from the ground," she said.
Mother and Father laughed, and Father Bunny said, "Yes, Miffy dear. That is true.
I bought that new cup and put it into the ground just as a little joke."
And they all laughed.

But suddenly dark clouds appeared, and it started raining.
They had no umbrellas with them, so they hid under a tree.

"Each year is divided into four seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
This is a picture of spring," she said. "What happens in the spring?"
Aggie raised her hand. "I think that spring is when the flowers grow," she said.
Winnie said, "Yes. That's because the sun is getting warmer. Everything grows in the spring."
"That's right," said the teacher. "What about summer?"

and usually there is a lot of snow."
"You are smart little bunnies," said the teacher.
After school, Miffy said to Melanie, "I wonder what season it is now."
Melanie started to laugh."I think that we are having all the seasons right now.
Yesterday it was sunny, and it rained, and then it snowed."
"Yes," said Miffy. "We had a whole year seasons in just one day."
And they both laughed.

Miffy's school teacher was a very nice bunny. And all the children loved her.
When it found out that it soon would be her birthday, they began to think
what they would make for her. Miffy and her classmates talked about it in the play ground.
"Why don't we sew her a new dress?" suggested Aggie.
"That would be too difficult," said Winnie. "We don't know her exact size."
"How about a huge box of sweets! I love sweets," said Melanie.
"I think she would like a big ice cream better," said Aggie.

"Food is a good idea," said Miffy. "I think our teacher likes good food.
Why don't we make a classroom restaurant for her?"
"Yes," said Melanie. "Some of us can be the cooks and some of us can be the waiters."
"What kind of food shall we make?" asked Winnie.
"How about carrot soup?" asked Miffy. "My mother will help me to make carrot soup."
Soon they all agreed on what each of them would do.
Miffy and her mother were soon busy chopping carrots and cooking them.
They made a large pan of delicious carrot soup.
The other bunnies were making waiter's aprons and cook's hats.
They decorated some dishes for the restaurant table.
They wrote a restaurant menu and coloured it in.
They wanted the teacher's desk to look like a real restaurant table.
When the day of the teacher's birthday came, all the little bunnies were giggling and whispering together.
The teacher wondered what was happening her classroom. Then all the little bunnies began to sing,
"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Teacher, Happy birthday to you."

The teacher was so surprised. "How nice of you all to remember!" she said. She was very happy.
"We have a special surprise for you," said Melanie.
"Yes. We are going to make a birthday restaurant dinner for you right here in our classroom," said Miffy.
So they put a beautiful table cloth on the teacher's desk, and a candle stick, and a menu card.
The decorated dishes and a glass of water and a knife, a fork, and a spoon.
"Thank you, children," said the teacher.
"That is a beautiful and original restaurant. And I really like it."
Then she looked lovingly at all her students.
But she felt a little sad that all of her pupils were standing there to watch her eat.
So she said, "I think I would enjoy this even more if all you cooks and waiters joined in.
Why don't you push all your desks together, and then we can all sit down at the same table?
I think there's enough of the lovely carrot soup for us all."
The teacher got some bowls and spoons from the school kitchen.
And she and all the little bunnies enjoyed the wonderful meal.
There was enough delicious carrot soup for everyone.
It was the grandest birthday party ever in their classroom.

"We're happy to see you, too," said Grandma Bunny.
"We’ve brought something we think you'll like, Miffy," said Grandpa.
"It's something I made in my own workshop especially for you."
"Oh, what is it?" asked Miffy. "I can hardly wait to see it."
Miffy carefully unwrapped the parcel. It was a perfect brightly painted wooden scooter.

"I'll come with you."
Soon Miffy was scooting alone with her little teddy bear in the basket.
Father Bunny had to run fast to keep up with her.
"I hope you are enjoying the ride, Teddy?" said Miffy.
The little bear seemed to be nodding, "Yes, I am, Miffy."
Soon Miffy and her father came to the playground. Miffy's friend Melanie was playing there.
"Hello, Melanie," said Miffy. "Hello. What a beautiful scooter, Miffy!" said Melanie.
"My Grandpa made it for me in his workshop," said Miffy.
"Would you like to try it?"
"Oh, yes, Miffy, thank you," said Melanie.

She loved her new scooter. When Melanie returned, she said, "This is a wonderful scooter, Miffy.
I will ask my daddy to make one for me, too. Then we can go scooting together."
"That will be great fun," said Miffy. Miffy felt very happy as she scooted home for tea.
And Grandpa Bunny was very pleased that the scooter was such a great success.
The next time that Miffy and her father were at the playground,
Melanie arrived with a beautiful new scooter of her own.
Her teddy bear had come along for a ride as well.
Miffy and Melanie and the teddy bears had a wonderful afternoon.

She was sure that she could think better while she was walking.
There was Snuffy who was as always very happy to see Miffy.
"If you want to come along with me?" asked Miffy.
While they were outside walking, Miffy and Snuffy met Aggie who had her arm in the sling.

Miffy was surprised when it quickly stopped raining and the sun came out.
"I wasted my second wish," she said.
"If there is only sunshine and no rain, the trees won't grow."
Now she had only one wish left.
"My last wish would be for something very nice," she said to Snuffy.
Miffy thought and thought as she walked along looking around
and tried to think of something important to wish for.

Just around a bend, there was a whole field of lovely yellow flowers.
"Now I can use my last wish for something else," said Miffy. "I will wish for an ice cream."
Miffy picked a lovely bunch of yellow flowers for her mother.
"Having three wishes is a very wonderful thing," said Miffy, as they began walking home.
When Miffy gave Mother Bunny the bunch of yellow flowers, she was very happy.
"Oh, Miffy," she said. "These are lovely. They are my favorite yellow flowers."
"I save my last wish for a nice ice cream," said Miffy.
"Do you know what I wish for? I wish that my little Miffy will always be just as sweet as she is now."
And she gave Miffy a big squeezy bunny hug.
Then Mother Bunny went into the kitchen and gave Snuffy a nice bowl of fresh water, and Miffy an ice cream.

次回アップの際、変更いたします。

最近の書き取りスタイルは、A4の裏紙をクリップボードにとめ、
4Bくらいの鉛筆かサインペンです。これだと手が疲れないし、紙がたっぷり使えるので。
一話書き取るのに10枚くらいつかっちゃいます。殴り書きもいいとこで、他人は判読不能でしょう。

ミッフィーといつも一緒に寝ているくまちゃんがベッドの下に落ちた。
ミッフィー曰く「もう大きくなったのね。自分のベッドが必要だわ。」
それをボリスに説明する、という場面なんです。

"It's too big for him." を「私のベッドはくまちゃん（と添い寝する）には大きすぎるの。」
と訳したら、トンチンカンですよね... 訳が間違ってるのか、聞き取りが間違ってるのか、
どっちなんだかわからなくて...

音声手に入れたら、是非教えてください。

Before her dress got wet, She ran into her house.

"If you want to play outside Miffy, You must wear your coat." Her mother said.
Miffy put on her coat. Just when she was going outside again,
Barbara bear knocked at the door.
"It stopped raining Mrs. Bunny, Can Miffy come to the woods with me please?"
"We can look for beautiful autumn leaves to make decorations."
"That sounds like a lovely thing to do Barbara,
But it might rain again, so be sure that Miffy wears her coat."

Soon the baskets were full of the pretty leaves.

Miffy looked out of the window and saw that it was raining again very heavily.
"Oh dear, Our coats" said Barbara.
"They're still outside hanging on a tree blanch. They will be completely soaked."
"We will be completely soaked if we go out to get them.” said Miffy.
"Don't worry Miffy," said Barbara.
"I have an umbrella that is big enough to cover both of us."

They were dripping wet.

"I can't put on my coat.” said Miffy. "How will I get home?"

"My umbrella will keep us dry."
The two friends were still nice and dry when they reached Miffy's house.
Miffy wondered what her mother would say,
When she saw that Miffy had come home without her coat.

When Mother Bunny saw them under the umbrella,
She was pleased that Miffy had not got wet in the rain.
"Miffy? Where is your coat?"
"I'm sorry, My coat is soaking wet," said Miffy.
"And I left it hanging on a tree blanch."
"That's all right, Miffy,” said Mother Bunny.
"You can go and fetch your coat when it stops raining."
"Thank you Barbara. For keeping Miffy dry with your umbrella.
Come in to have some tea."

Miffy and Barbara looked at all the pretty leaves they had collected.
"What shall we make with all of our leaves?" asked Miffy.
"As it still raining," said Barbara. "How about a rain hat?"
"Yes." said Miffy. "And as I don't have my coat, I will make a rain cape."

Soon Barbara had a fabulous rain hat, and Miffy had a colorful cape.
They ran outside and were surprised to find that it had finally stopped raining.

"Come on Miffy, Now that is sunny shining. Let's go and collect our coats."
"OK." said Miffy.
"And this time, We shall bring the umbrella, the new hat, and the new cape,
Just in case with it starts rain again."

１）の段階で「this tree branch」 と二人で確認済みなので、ここでは

"I'm very good at throwing balls. May I try?"
"O.K.," said the girl bunnies.
Aggie said, "But I don't think you can throw the ball higher than we can."
Poppy threw the ball. Up it went but it did not come down.
"What happened?" said Poppy. "Did you see how high I throw the ball? Where is it?"
"The bunny girls laughed. The ball is in the tree," said Melanie.
"You threw the ball high enough for it to get stuck in the tree."
Luckily the wind blew the ball out of the tree.
"O.K. Let's see how far I can throw the ball this time."
The ball sailed away and splashed into the pond.
"Oh, dear," said Poppy. "I have lost your ball and I can't swim."

But just then Miffy's father came along.
"Don't worry," he said, "I will get your ball out of the pond.
And then we can have a game to see who can kick the ball the furthest."
Father Bunny got in a boat and rowed out to the middle of the pond and took the ball out of the water.
"Aggie, let's see how far you can kick the ball," said Father Bunny. Then Melanie tried.
"All right," said Father Bunny, "that was very good. And now it's Miffy's turn."
"Now young bunny girls," said Father Bunny, "I will show you how to really kick a ball."
Poppy Pig was glad that she didn't have to kick the ball.
But she watched Father Bunny to see how a ball should really be kicked.
The ball sailed away straight towards Miffy's house. "Dinner is ready!" called Mother Bunny.
Aggie, Melanie, Poppy, and Miffy gasped. Father Bunny was very sorry about what he done.
And he was worried that Mother Bunny would be very angry with him.
But Mother Bunny just laughed and said, "Well, at least the ball is in time for dinner."
"Now let’s see who can run the fastest to the table."

One morning when Miffy awoke, she saw that her teddy bear was sick.
His arm was dangling by a thread. "Oh, dear," said Miffy.
"You're looking very bad, Little Teddy. I'll have to take you to a doctor.
Is there a doctor for teddy bears?" she asked.
"Well," said Mother Bunny, "the very best toy doctor is your own Auntie Alice."
So straight after breakfast, Miffy carefully wrapped her sick teddy bear in a napkin
and placed him in her scooter basket in order to bring him to Auntie Alice.

"Will you please look at my teddy bear?" asked Miffy.

Auntie Alice placed Miffy's teddy bear on the table and carefully removed the napkin.
"Oh, dear!" said Auntie Alice. "This is a more serious condition than I thought.
Look! Even the stuffing is coming out of his body. You've come just in time."
"Oh, can you help him?" asked Miffy anxiously. "I think I can," said Auntie Alice.
"But he will have to stay my hospital for one night so that I know he is well again."
Miffy was very sad to be without her teddy for even one night. But she had to go home.

Back home she felt very sad. She could hardly eat her dinner.
"I don't think I can sleep very well without my teddy bear," she said.
"Well, Miffy," said her mother, "I will telephone Auntie Alice and ask her
if you can stay with her tonight. So you can be close to your teddy."
"I've already sewn Miffy's teddy together. So if she comes back here to sleep,
I'll put him in her bed as a surprise for her when she wakes in the morning."
So Father drove Miffy to Auntie Alice to stay for the night.
As soon as Miffy was asleep, Auntie Alice carefully tacked the repaired teddy bear under Miffy's blanket.
When Miffy awoke in the morning she saw right away that her teddy was healthy again.
"Oh, Auntie Alice, it's true!" she shouted. "You're really the best toy doctor that ever was."
"Thank you, dear," said Auntie Alice proudly.
And Miffy was very happy that her teddy bear was well again.

"Oh, Poppy," said Miffy one summer day, "I would love to taste one of your apples."
"Not yet, Miffy dear," said Poppy. "The apples are still too small, green, and hard.
You must wait a while."
The next time Miffy walked by Poppy Pig's house, she saw that the apples were larger
and were changing their color. Half green and half red.
"Now may I please taste one of your apples, Poppy?" asked Miffy.
"Not yet, Miffy," said Poppy.
"The apples must be all bright red before they are ready to eat."

hoping that at last Poppy's apples would be ready to eat.
She was so excited thinking about how good they would taste
and could hardly wait to get Poppy's house.
And there it was. But look! There were no more apples in the tree.
"Oh, there those wonderful apples were gone!"
Miffy ran to Poppy's door and knocked, but Poppy was not home.
"Who could have taken Poppy's apples?" Miffy wondered.
She looked into Poppy's kitchen window. There were no apples on the table.

And they went inside Poppy's house.
As soon as they entered the door,
Miffy smelt something very good, something fresh out of the oven.
"Wouldn't you like to have a big slice of apple pie to go with your milk?"
And then Poppy opened her oven and brought out a huge pie full of delicious apples.
She put the apple pie on the table.
It looked wonderful and it smelt delicious.
Miffy was very surprise and very happy.
At last she had tasted those wonderful big red apples.

When she knocked on the door, she could almost taste those biscuits.
But there was no answer. She looked up and saw a note stuck at the door.
Miffy read the note, "I’m off to visit my cousin. Back next week," it said.
"Oh, well," thought Miffy. "What else can I do on this lovely day?"

"Snuffy loves to chase this ball," said Miffy. She ran as fast as she could to where Snuffy lived.
"We will have great fun," she thought.
But when she got there, Snuffy was lying beside her empty food dish fast asleep.
Miffy could see that Snuffy had just had her dinner.

She took out her beautiful kite with a long ribbon.
She held on to the string and ran across the meadow.
She ran and ran, but the kite just bounced on the ground.

And her kite could not fly up into the sky. Miffy stopped running.
"This started off such a nice day," she thought.
"But everything went wrong. I'll just go home."
At home Miffy took one of her favorite books from her shelf.
"Here is something that never goes wrong," she said.
"A good book," Miffy smiled at the funny story she read.
"What fun!" she thought. "It wasn't such a bad day after all."

They looked outside and saw the mother bird flying all round the tree looking for the baby bird.
"We must put the little bird back into its nest in the tree.
It's too small to fly up there all by itself.

It flew round and round, up and up, and right into its nest all by itself.
"The little bird is back in its nest!" said Miffy.
"Look! Its mother is flying home. And her baby is safe and sound."
Miffy and her mother carried the ladder back inside.
And Mother Bird was happy to have her baby home again.

I forgot to turn off the tap."
Miffy went quickly into the house. She turned off the water.
"Oh, Snuffy," said Miffy. "You're such a clever little dog.
Now you must be very hungry. I'll give you a biscuit.
"Bow!" said Snuffy happily. Her little tail was wagging with joy.
"It was so nice that you came to visit to me. You can come to see anytime you like."
Snuffy barked happily which went "Yes, I will."

"Good!" said Mother Bunny. Mother served them a nice dinner.
There were carrots, leeks and four delicious tomatoes.
It smelt so good that the little bunny girls ate every bit.

"It's all dark in here." said Aggie. "I can open the door a little," said Miffy.
"I still can't fall asleep," said Aggie. So Miffy turned on her little bedside light.
And saw that Aggie was holding Miffy's teddy bear instead of her own.
"Now I see why you can't sleep," said Miffy. "You don't have your own teddy bear."
"I knew something was wrong," said Aggie.
"Our teddy bears look the same, but each has its own special smell."
"Of course," said Miffy. "My bear smells like me."
"And my bear smells like me," said Aggie.
"That's how we know which one is our own," said Miffy.
So when each little bunny girl had her own teddy bear each with its own special smell,
they both fell asleep and had beautiful teddy bear dreams until the morning.

Miffy asked her mother if she could go to Auntie Alice's house.
"If you go, you should bring Auntie Alice a nice present," said Mother Bunny.

Miffy looked out of her window and saw beautiful flowers growing in her garden.
"Can I pick some flowers from the garden to give to Auntie Alice," asked Miffy.
"Yes, of course," said her mother.

I can't visit Auntie Alice without taking her a present."
"Don't be sad, Miffy," said Poppy.
"I will give you a big bunch of fresh carrots from my garden. Your auntie will love them."
"Oh, that's very kind of you, Poppy."
"You are my friend, Miffy," said Poppy. "And friends always help each other."
So Poppy led Miffy to her garden and pulled out lots of fresh carrots
and put them in a basket for Miffy to carry.

They cut out large pieces of paper and glue them to a frame made of sticks,
and made a large kite. They went outside to see it worked.

No matter how hard they tried, the kite could not lift Miffy off the ground.
Miffy was fed up with it and disappointed.
She gave up and went into her bedroom. Then Grunty had a good idea.
He asked Miffy's mother if she had some large crayons.
Grunty took the crayons and began to make a drawing on the kite.
When Miffy looked out of her window again, what did she see?
There was the kite flying high in the air. And on the kite was a drawing of Miffy.
"Look, Miffy!" said Mother Bunny. "You're flying at last." Miffy had to laugh.

ところで、「くまちゃんのベッド」における積年の謎が解けましたのでご報告いたします。
ミッフィーがボリスに「昨日の夜、くまちゃんが私のベッドから落ちちゃったの」に続く部分ですが、

It used to big for him. (そのベッドは以前彼にとっては大きかった。)

でした。used to は直後に形容詞をとることができるんだそうです。知らんかったよ。
ということで、 11月21日（水）朝の放送分にあわせて、改訂版をアップしますね。

I'll ask my good friend Boris Bear to make a bed for you. We shall go and visit him."
So Miffy carried her teddy.
And together with Snuffy, she walked through the forest to Boris's house.
"Hello, Miffy! Hello, Snuffy!" said Boris. "I'm always so happy to see you both.
And I see that you have another friend with you."
"It's my fairy own teddy bear and he needs his own bed.
Last night he fell out of my bed. It used to big for him."
"Of course!" said Boris. "He must have his own bed. I'll make one for him in my workshop."

It had been a lot of work and Miffy was tired.
Just then she heard ...(the sound of honking) It was Father Bunny.
Barbara had telephoned him and asked him to come and collect Miffy and Snuffy.
"Look, Father!" called Miffy. "Here is a lovely bed that Boris made for my teddy."
"Boris is so clever," said Father Bunny. "Did you remember to thank him?"
"Oh, yes!" said Boris. "Miffy thanked me very politely.
It was a pleasure to make the little bed for her."
Then it was time to ride home in Father Bunny's car.
Father carefully put the bed on the backseat of the car and lay Teddy Bear in it.
Snuffy jumped next to it and Miffy got into the car as well.
They waved goodbye to Boris and Barbara and set off her home.

He was building a fire because he wanted to surprise Barbala with a nice picnic on the hill.
When stones were already he went into the forest to find some woods to burn in the fire.
At the same time, at Poppy’s place, Poppy was saying her niece Grunty.
“This is such a lovely day. Why don’t we go to the hill to have a picnic?”
“That’s a good idea.” said Grunty. Let’s bring lots of carrots.”
Meanwhile mother and father bunny were having the very same idea.
“This is such a splendid day.” said Miffy’s mother. “We can all go to the hillside for a picnic.”
“Oh, wonderful.” said Miffy. I love picnics. Shall we invite Auntie Alice?”

英語版だったらストライプかスポットかドットかな？みたいな、

She forgot all about her lost ball and looked with wonder at the little blue egg.
"What do you think it is inside, Melanie?" Miffy said.

It was the cheeping of a baby bird. There it was. A tiny red bird in the nest.
Miffy realized that color of the outside doesn't tell you what's inside.
"I knew all the time that carrots don't come from eggs, Miffy," said Poppy Pig.
"I was just making a joke about the blue carrots."
"Me, too," said Melanie. "Of course I know that socks don't come from eggs."
"Now we know that red birds can come from blue eggs," said Miffy. "How wonderful!"

"It's a naughty caterpillar," said Miffy. "It was eating a leaf from a beautiful flower."
Auntie Alice laughed. "Caterpillars must eat leaves, Miffy," said Auntie Alice.
"It's what they need to make their great change."
"What change is that?" asked Miffy. "You will see," said Auntie Alice.
"It is something so magical. You'll hardly believe it."
Now Miffy was very excited. She wondered what the great change could be.
Auntie Alice carefully placed the little caterpillar near some tasty leaves.
"You can come each day to watch the caterpillar, Miffy, and feed it some more leaves," she said.
"You'll see something very surprising." Miffy was very curious.
She loved surprises and she could hardly wait for her next visit.
Each time Miffy came to Auntie Alice's house, she fed the little caterpillar more leaves.
But she didn't see any change at all.
"You must be patient, Miffy," said her Auntie Alice. "The surprise will come."

On her next visit, Miffy was very sad.
"Oh, dear! Look! The caterpillar is all wrapped up in white thread."
"That is called a cocoon," said Auntie Alice. "The caterpillar made it.
It's asleep inside. Next week you will see the great surprise."
Miffy was so excited that the next week she brought her friend Aggie with her
to see what in the world the great change would be.
They watched but nothing happened. The white cocoon just lay there very still.
Then suddenly it began to move. It shuck. And it quivered and then it split.
The two bunny girls leaned closer. Their eyes were wide with wonder.
Out of the cocoon there came not a caterpillar, but something else.
What was it? It crawled out. Then what a surprise! Wings opened. It really had changed.
"It's not a caterpillar any more," shouted Miffy. "It's a butterfly. You are right, Auntie Alice.
Something magical did happen. A little hungry caterpillar has changed into a beautiful butterfly."
The butterfly fluttered its new wings to say goodbye and flew away.

ナインチェミュージアムは、ユトレヒトの中央美術館の別館で、
中央美術館（本館）込みで、11ユーロ。
ミッフィーだけ目当てだと、ちと高い。
ミュージアムショップのミッフィーグッズも、品揃えがイマイチだし。
アムステルダムの専門店の方が、いろいろある。

ナインチェスクエアも超せまい。
ユトレヒト市民は、ミッフィーをもっと大事にしなきゃあかんよ。

”Miffy is invited and she must be sure to come in a disguise,”
read Mother Bunny.
”Oh, What fun!”
said Miffy.
”What is a disguise?”
”It means you have to wear a mask,”
”So you will look like someone else.”
said Miffy's mother.
”Now, who could you pretend to be?”
In the meantime, Poppy Pig got an invitation,
Boris Bear got an invitation.
Barbara Bear also got one.
Even Snuffy was invited.
Auntie Alice had asked all of them to her costume party.
On the day of the party,
It was very funny.
Auntie Alice couldn't be sure who was coming through her front door.
Miffy arrived wearing a Poppy Pig mask.
Poppy Pig arrived wearing a Barbara Bear mask.
Barbara Bear arrived disguised as Auntie Alice.
Auntie Alice herself was disguised as Boris Bear.
Boris Bear arrived wearing a Snuffy mask,
and Snuffy arrived wearing a Miffy mask.

There was a clear blue winter sky.
Miffy was sleeping in a warm cozy bed.
When at last the sun began to rise.
Miffy was awakened by the sound of chirping bird.
Just outside her window.
”What a beautiful song that bird has,”
thought Miffy.
”She must be very happy.”
”She can see the beautiful snow covered the meadow.”
”I would like to be out there too.”
So Miffy quickly got dressed in her warm coat and a warm scarf,
And went outside in the crisp white snow.
The bird was still there,
Right in Miffy's garden.
”What a happy bird,”
thought Miffy again.
And she went to get her sledge.
She gave her sledge a little push and jumped onto it.
It was such a nice feeling to be sliding over the smooth white snow.
Miffy still heard the bird cheeping.
Just as loudly as ever,
And when she looked back,
She saw that the bird was hopping after her.
”The little bird loves the snow too,”
thought Miffy.
”She is hopping along with me.”
But now,
Miffy had to turn her sledge around,
And pull it back to her house.

”You've already known how to sing,”
Miffy thought it was funny.
The little bird followed everywhere always singing.
Even as she sat in her class room,
The little bird sat outside the window.
When it was time for break,
All of the children went out to play in the snow.
And they were all delighted to see the little bird hopping all around them.
Melanie said,
”I think the little bird is trying to tell us something Miffy.”
”Yes,”
said Miffy.
”She's been chirping and following me all morning.”

The little bird immediately jumped over to the crumbs,
And ate every one of them.
Then she flapped her wings,
And flew off.
The next morning.
When Miffy woke up,
The little bird was there again.
This time Miffy knew just what to do.

Boris and Barbara was thinking about Miffy's birthday.
”What can we make for her?”
asked Barbara.

”Spring will soon be here,”
”And I know that Miffy enjoy seeing the baby birds every year.”
”What if I make her a special bird house that she can watch each day?”
”Oh, That's the splendid idea Boris.”
said Barbara.
”It should be painted brightly to attract mother bird.”
”I will make it an exact copy of Miffy's own house only very small,”
”Just the right size for the little birds.”
”I have a picture of Miffy's house to guide me.”
Boris selected some of his best wooden planks,
Some pieces that would make the walls,
A strong piece of wood for the floor,
And two steady pieces for the roof.
First he draw a plan that shows the right sizes of the wood,
And how they would all be fitted in nail together.
Then Boris measured piece of wood with a special ruler.
And used a pencil to mark where the plank should be cut.
He clamped the wood to his work bench,
So it would be held steady,
And then he took out one of his sharp saws.
He moved the saw back and forth over the line he drawn with the pencil.
He did this for each piece of wood,
Until every part of the bird house was cut the right size.

Next he used a hammer to fasten all the pieces together,
Finally there was a perfect little house.

said Boris.
Barbara Bear had lots of jars of bright paint,
And a brush for each color.
Soon the little bird house really did look like a tiny model of Miffy's own house,

On Miffy's birthday,
Boris and Barbara brought the bird house to Miffy's house,
And set it up on a pole in Miffy's garden.
”Happy birthday, Miffy.”
said Boris and Barbara.
”We have a surprise for you.”
”Come and see.”
Miffy was delighted with a bird house.
”It looks just like my house.”
said Miffy.
”But there's something different,”
”Instead of a door it has only that little hole in the front.”
”That's the door for the birds.”
said Boris.
”It's not a bunny door.”
They all laughed.
”Oh, how wonderful to have such clever friends.”
said Miffy.
”You have made me happy.”
”And your present will also make a mother bird very happy.”
”Now, We all have something to be happy about.”

”That is the sign of having the flu.”
”I'll bring you an extra blanket and some water.”
”When you have the flu,”
”You must drink a lot.”
”I'll bring you breakfast in bed.”

”That the flu is catching.”
”It would be best if you didn't visit Miffy today.”
Boris and Barbara sadly walked away from Miffy's house.
Mother peeked into Miffy's room again.
And saw that she was still sleeping.
Just then the door bell rang again.
”Who could that be this time.”
said mother.

”I'm sure they will be here soon.”
Just then the door bell rang.
There was Miffy's friend Aggie.
She was carrying a beautifully wrapped present for Miffy.
”Oh, Hello, Aggie.”
said Miffy.
”You're the first arrived.”
”What a lovely looking present.”
”I wonder what it is.”
”You must wait until everyone is here, Miffy.”
said Aggie.
”And then you can open all of your presents.”
Just then the door bell rang again.
There were all the rest of Miffy's friends.
There was Poppy Pig, Grunty, Boris Bear, and Barbara.

”You'll see, Miffy.”
said Aggie.
Poppy Pig said.
”Now you can open the presents from Grunty and me.”
Miffy was surprised to find two more books and two more wooden planks.
Barbara's present was also a book and two planks.
”This is really funny.”
said Miffy.
”I can read the books.”
”But what can I do with these planks?”
”Well, you just have to open the present from me.”
said Boris Bear.
”And then you will see.”
The present from Boris was only an envelope.
But when Miffy opened it she understood the joke.
Inside was a drawing of a bookshelf.

And together they walked towards Poppy's house.
Miffy was very puzzled.
When they arrived at Poppy's garden.
Miffy looked and looked.
But could not see a single carrot.
”But there are no carrots here.”
said Miffy who was very disappointed.
And still very hungry.
”I knew they couldn't really grow in one day.”
”Of course, Not.”
said Poppy.
”But there are carrots here, Miffy.”
”You just can't see them.”

One afternoon, Miffy and Melanie were playing in Miffy's garden.
"I will pretend to be a princess," said Miffy."And you can pretend to be the queen, Melanie."
"That will be fun," said Melanie.
It was good fun.Princess Miffy and the good queen Melanie had a lovely afternoon.
"Melanie, Miffy," called Mother Bunny out of the window."Come in now, It's time to go to bed."
Soon Miffy and Melanie were tacked into their beds.
"Would you girls like me to read you a bed time story?" said Miffy's mother.
"Oh, Yes." "Please read us a story." said Miffy and Melanie.
"Here is a nice story about a princess and the Queen."
"Would you like to hear it?" asked Miffy's mother.
Miffy and Melanie laughed. They thought it was funny,
that Miffy's mother had found a story that was just the same as the one they had played in the garden.
It was a wonderful story. And both little girls listened with wide eyes to every word.
When she finished reading the story, Mother bunny turned out the lights.
And said, "Sleep well, little ones. tomorrow is another day."
When it was dark, Melanie whispered to Miffy,
"That was a wonderful story, wouldn't it be good if we could read another one?"
Miffy turned on her bedside lamp. She took another book from her shelf.
"Can you read it? Melanie." asked Miffy.
"Girls, girls," "You are supposed to be sleeping." Mother bunny said.
When the lights were out again, Melanie whispered very softly to Miffy.
"I can't read yet, Miffy. I wish I could." "Me too," whispered Miffy.

"That's just what we would like." whispered Miffy to Melanie
All that day, the children began to learn how to read letters and words.
It was very exciting.
At the end of the afternoon, the teacher said.
"I have a nice story book here," "Who would like to read a few words from it?"
Miffy and Melanie looked at each other again.
They were so surprised to see that it was the very same book Miffy's mother had read to them.
Both girls raised their hands. The teacher picked Miffy, And handed her the book.
Miffy started to read.
"Once upon a time, there was a lovely princess."
The teacher was surprised that Miffy read so well.
"You've leaned to read very quickly Miffy," she said.
"I know this story by heart."

She helps him, and when the kite is finished, they try it out.
It gets stuck in a tree, so Miffy decides to fly it somewhere else.
Over her house there are now two beautiful kites in the air Grunty’s and Miffy’s.
She is very proud!

通常版は左右振り分けSDそのままなのに、
スペシャルは2トラックHDに変換してから流してるみたい。
