- 【A question about the English language】
If there were any native speaker of English here who can spare some time for me
in answering a question about English, I would greatly appreciate it.
MY QUESTION
What exactly does the following text mean? It is what President Obama
said recently. More specifically, what do the "we's" and "our" mean
in his remark? Who does the "recognizing"?
TEXT
(1) "I think this a wake-up call for a lot of Iraqis inside of
Baghdad recognizing that we're going to have to rethink
how we do business if we're going to hold our country together,"
Obama said, before departing on a two-week vacation.

Here's the same text with some markings:
(2) I think this a wake-up call for a lot of Iraqis inside of
Baghdad 【recognizing】 that ●we're● going to have to rethink
how ●we● do business if ●we're● going to hold ●our country● together.
(To be continued)
