I. The story of creation (1:1-2:3)

Gen.1
[1] In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
[2] The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.
[3] And God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
[4] And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.
[5] God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

[6] And God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."
[7] And God made the firmament and separated the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament. And it was so.

[9] And God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear." And it was so.

[20] And God said, "Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the firmament of the heavens."

[22] And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."

[24] And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds." And it was so.

コピペした部分に関して、色々と調べるのがこのスレの趣旨です。
とゆーわけで、非常に時間がかかるのです（＾＾）

まずは英語そのものに関して。

1:3 let there be light
let (SVOC) に 《there 構文》 を組入れた特殊な形。e.g. Let there be no doubt.

1:6 waters
複数形で大量感。

1:12 vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed
わかりにくいが、種をつけない（と当時は思われていた）植物、種をつける植物、果実をつける果樹の３種類ということらしい。
vegetation を英英で引いてもそんな意味はないようであるが・・・後ほどまた改め言及されるであろう。

いまのところ参考にするであろう文献

関根正雄(1967), 『旧約聖書 創世記』（岩波文庫）, 岩波書店.
　56年に出したものの改版。半世紀前の研究に基づくので、部分的に古い。
　しかし気軽に使えるので、たぶん一番使う。岩波からは月本昭男(1997)
　の新訳がでてる。

中沢洽樹(1968), 『世界の名著〈13〉聖書』, 中央公論社.
　旧約の数文書の翻訳。繰り返しの部分は省略されてる。中公クラシック
　から再販されてる。

Coogan(ed.)(2010), "The New Oxford Annotated Bible, NRSV with the Apocrypha", OUP.
　注釈付NRSV。創世記は David M. Carr による。

Hamilton(2005), "Handbook on the Pentateuch", Baker Academic.
　モーセ五書の解説本。著者は New International Commentary で創世記の
　注釈本（全2巻）も出してる。

de Vaux(1962), "La Gene?se", Edition du Cerf.
　Bible de Jerusalem の分冊版。

　ケンブリッジの新注釈シリーズ。

Wenham(1987),　"Genesis", Thomas Nelson.
　Word Biblical Commentary（旧版）の創世記。

Westermann(1988), "Genesis", T&T Clark.
　ヴェスターマンの Genesis (1966)の超簡約版（の英訳）。全3巻の完全版
　の方は、持ってなきゃ旧約学者とは名乗れないくらいの超有名本。英訳版
　も出てる。簡約版はあまり価値がないかもしれない（＾＾；）

やる前からうすうす感じていたが、これは果てのない探求のやうなものだ・・・（＾＾；）
1:1をどう読むかで、何十〜何百の論文が出てて、当然のことながら注釈書でも延々と議論されている（＾＾；）

保守age

合宿中で、英語本なんか読んでる暇はないのだが、ちょこちょこと進める。
1:1 を 1:2(-3)の従属節ととるか、独立文ととるかで延々議論が続いている。
たとえば RSV は独立文と解釈するが、NRSV では従属節ととる。
後者の解釈は20世紀以降と、比較的新しい。
LXX以来の伝統的な読みは前者のようである。

独立文と解釈すると、1:1 は世界の創造の章の表題であり、
従属節と解釈すると、In the begining, when.... ということになるようである

もっとも、セム語の construct state とかそーゆーのがわからないと
議論についてけない部分である（＾＾；）

整理しなおそう。まず 1:1 は大きく２通りの読み方がある。

Ａ．独立文派　（ＲＳＶなど）
　In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Ｂ．従属節派　（ＮＲＳＶなど）
　In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth ...
　When God began to create the heavens and the earth ...
　In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth ...

Ａが伝統的な読みである。といってもモーセ五書の最終編集の時代に
遡りうる読みなんか残っていないから、問題になってるわけだが（＾＾；）

最近はＡの方が勢いがあるようだし、関根センセもＡだし、
1:2以降のつながりを考えると、Ａの方が好ましいように思われる。
