1)　非常にオペレーティブでディレクティブな指示するような
　　英文である。理系英語と言える。（キャロルは数学者であり
　　論理学者であった。）
2)　少し古いイギリス英語の英文法が使われている。アリスの
　　読みにくさ、それほど読みにくいものではないが、この
　　読みにくさはイギリス英語になれていないからというよりも
　　少し古い英語であるという点に原因がある。

指示するような英語は、性は旧約聖書のレビ記で覚えるから、
性にはアリスは必要ない。

Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading,

but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet,

戦時加算の具体例として、ヘミングウェイの作品を挙げてみたいと思います。
ヘミングウェイは、アメリカ人の作家ですから、彼が第二次世界大戦中あるいは
第二次世界大戦前に執筆した作品は、戦時加算の対象になります。
彼が亡くなったのは１９６１年ですから、本来なら日本国内での彼の
著作権保護期間は、今年(２０１１年)いっぱいで終了します。しかし、
戦時加算により、「武器よさらば」(１９２９年発表)「誰がために鐘は鳴る」
(１９４０年発表)といった戦前の作品については、保護期間が約１０年間延長
されることになります。ただし、「老人と海」(１９５２年発表)に代表される
戦後の作品群は、戦時加算の対象とならないので、まもなく著作権が切れます。

来年あたりに著作権が切れるらしいが、カナダでは

なぜ研究者の団体である日本ヘミングウェイ協会に通報すんの？
ここは著作権管理団体じゃないぞ？

あと、引用を否定しているキ○ガイ君と、引用しないと論文書けない研究者たちとは、一生かかっても相容れないと思うよ。
