Dear Kameron, thank you for studying Japanese.
We Japanese always appreciate foreigners’ interest and learning about our language.

However, this place is like 4ch in the United States so I’m not sure if you can find someone decent here.

In my opinion,you don’t have to read and understand all of the rules here, because it finally just says “Posting is your responsibility, and the posted contents are ours.”

Please kindly avoid posting “death threats” even if you are exited or get crazy.
A lot of people were arrested before owing to those kinds of simple statements that were indicated to perish someone.

Which is the correct answer?

The latter is correct but Japanese is so flexible
that it is difficult to say the former is categorically wrong.
If you search "彼に*をもらう": "kare ni * wo morau" on Google you will see a lot of search results,
which shows how commonly the style is used.
