英語の発音に関する勉強法や書籍に関して情報交換しましょう。
書き込もうとすると文字化けする発音記号があるなら、対応する数値文字参照で書き込んでください。
罵詈雑言などを行う荒らしはスルーしてください。スルーには専ブラのNG機能を使うと良いでしょう。


○発音記号と数値文字参照について
一般的に発音記号と呼ばれる記号は国際音声記号(IPA)を指し、発音本や辞書などに使われています。
X-SAMPAとは国際音声記号をASCII文字のみで表した発音記号で半角英数で入力できます。
数値文字参照とはインターネットにおいて直接記述できない文字や記号を表記する為の方法です。
&#と;で数字を挟む形で使います。例としてəはəで、ʃはʃで、ːはːで書き込めます。

ひとつ気になった点が終盤の

で後半はtheseじゃなくてtheyが自然だと思うんだけど何度聴いてもtheseに聴こえる。

it were hereですな、wishingの後なのになぜこれを聞き取れなかったのか、自分にがっかりですよ。
それよりもhave had springをhave heads springと書いてなぜ疑問に思わなかったのかが謎すぎる・・・
got a head springで「頭の中がお花畑」という意味の慣用句があると無意識のうちに自分を納得させたのかもｗ

今googleで試したら一応一発目で出たけど、繰り返したら2/3くらいだった。payrollやpillowと間違えられた。

発音を修整して最後の音節の/lel/をしっかり発音するようにしたら100パー出るようになった。

見落としがちだけどparallelは/lel/に第二強勢がつくから母音をきっちり発音しないといけなかった。

ガクトからHelixへのメッセージはこれなんだけど自動生成の字幕をONにして、
自分で言っているつもりの英語と比較してみると如何に誤認識されているのかが露呈する。

【例】
(学徒字幕) I really hope people find whatever they can through this channel
(音声認識) I really hope people from whatever they can to this channel

find の母音が弱すぎて from と認識されているし、全体に母音を弱く短く発音する傾向があるね。
あれだけ重要性を強調していた子音も全然なってないし、発音の手本を示す実力はない。
Siriで発音が通じるか試せとか言っていたのに自分はこのザマだ。
この点をコメントで指摘してやったら信者がどんな反応するか見てみたい。

いつも思うんだけど自動生成字幕とか音声認識とかって
参考程度に使うのは良いけど、それだけを信じて練習するのは
危険と思うよ。もちろんアナウンサーとかの発音は認識されると思う。
けど、人が聞けば問題ない発音でも誤認識するから。
俺、自分の日本語がかなり誤認される。でも普通に話してて
聞き返されることはないし、外国の方ですか？とか言われたことない。

意識しすぎてカチカチの発音になるかもしれないが、
しかし、それよりも音が出てないほうが良くない
音が出てるか確かめるには有用なツール

自動で認識できないのを人が理解できるのは文法とか経験で補ってるからだよ
ちゃんと話してないのを補完して理解している状態
それは初学者やることではない

音声認識は英語と日本語でずいぶん精度が異なるとは私も思っていた。
日本語のほうが音が少ないし聴き取りやすい言語のはずなんだけどね。
英語は音の変化が激しいのになぜあんなにも正確に認識されるのか不思議。

でも日本語そんなに間違うかな？
漢語の同音異義語はしょっちゅう間違えるけどそれは仕方ない

ちょい前にcarsやcardsの話あったが
MTG(カードゲーム)動画の自動字幕だとcarsやcarが偶に現れるね
誤字幕が一番多いのは、ゲーム特有の単語だけど

この上なく痛たたた、な恥ずかしい人だとは思うけど、同時にツイッターで青山の発音を

assetの強勢を間違って第二音節に置いてるからthe finest assetの箇所は
通じない可能性高いけど、それ以外の場所は、まあ下手だけど一応通じる発音かと。

一応Rの音出てるよ（米音のつもりだろうがコーダのRは発音してない）。

こういう数値化できないものってもめるよね。
少しはわかってないと、に対しては、少しならわかってると
言えてしまうわけで。
基準とする音を定めてこのrの音はそこから3離れてるとか
5離れてるとか言えれば楽だけど。

音声認識の話も今の機械認識は2.5以上離れると認識できないが、
ネイティブでも場合によって3離れる人もいる。
だから2.8だったら人間が聞けばネイティブ並と評価されるはず、みたいな。

「〜という状況のrを、ら行で発音してしまってる」
この表現でも、ら行の発音が何を指してるか曖昧さがある
ら行の発音も下記の多様性があるからね
・全て弾き音だが、母音によって舌をつける位置が違うこともある（”り”だけ舌の位置が違ったり）
・弾き音でなく接近音として発音すること、人もいる
・そり舌で発音してる人もいる
・だ行になってる（滑舌が悪い人と認識される）

23の you learn this も聞きようによっては you learn nice と聞こえたりするし。

あと、6 のbutの[b]は何度聞いても有声子音に聞こえない。　^^;
それと08のspringの母音、、、　このあたりは文脈補正しないと聞き取れない感じ。

そのせいか、広めの[i]というよりも、狭めの [e] ってな感じに聞こえました。
