私は太郎だ
I am the one that is Taro.
-> I am who Taro is. / I am Taro.
私が太郎だ
It is the thing that I am Taro.
-> (It is) that I am Taro. / The thing is I am Taro.
象は鼻が長い
Elephants are the ones that their noses are long.
-> Elephants are the ones who have long noses. / Elephants have long noses.
春(に於いて)は曙(が最も良い)
Spring is the one that the dawn is the best.
-> In spring, the dawn must be the best time in a day.
私はウナギ(を食べる)
I am the one that is going to eat eel.
-> I'm going to eat eel.
私はウナギ(そのものだ)
I am the one that is an eel.
-> I am an eel.
ウナギは私(が頼んだ)
Eel is the thing that I ordered.
-> Eel is what I ordered. / Eel is mine.
