■約1億件のツイートを収集し、ワクチン懐疑派を分析

　コロナ禍でワクチン反対派になった人は、陰謀論や自然派、スピリチュアルな世界観に傾倒している傾向がある――。東京大学大学院工学系研究科の鳥海不二夫教授らの研究グループは、ツイッター（現X）を分析し、そうした結論を導き出した。分析の対象となったのは、2021年1月から12月までの「ワクチン」という単語を含む約1億件のツイートだ。

　「ワクチンに懐疑的な考え方を持つ人たちについての研究はありましたが、“人はなぜワクチン懐疑派になるのか”という分析については、これまでありませんでした。今回の私たちの研究はそこにメスを入れたものとして、意義があると考えています」（鳥海教授）

■継続的な反ワクチン派が政治への関心が高い理由

　まず、収集した約1億のツイートを、次の3つのカテゴリーに分類した。

　これらを分析したところ、ワクチン懐疑傾向の低いアカウントはアニメ、ゲーム、漫画などへの関心が高く、逆にワクチン懐疑傾向の高いアカウントは、相対的に政治への関心が高いことが分かったという。

　「ワクチンというものは、病気が悪化してから接種するものではなく、感染症が広がるかもしれない集団に対して、広く接種することで、感染の広がりを食い止めようとするものです。つまり公衆衛生の側面も非常に強い。そうした背景もあり、ワクチン接種政策を“全体のために個人が強制されるもの”と感じる人たちが一部いるのでしょう。ある意味で、全体主義的な考え方への忌避があるからか、リベラル的な政治志向と親和性が高いと言えます」

■「アニメ好き＝ワクチン賛成派」ではない

　同研究では、ツイッターユーザーのワクチンに対する態度がコロナ禍前と後でどのように変化していったかの検証も行っている。ワクチン懐疑傾向の高い層をHighグループ、逆にワクチン懐疑傾向の低い層をLowグループとした。

　「コロナ禍以前からHighグループに属していたユーザーと、コロナ禍を経て2021年12月までにLowグループからHighグループに移行したユーザーの2つを比較分析しました。コロナ禍以前からHighグループだった人たちは、政治的な関心が強く、どちらかというといわゆるリベラルな傾向を示していたのに対し、LowからHighに移行したユーザー、つまりコロナ禍を経てワクチン懐疑派になったユーザーは陰謀論や自然派、スピリチュアリティに関する単語がツイッターのプロフィール文に頻繁に現れることが分かりました。一例を挙げると、“テクノロジー犯罪”や、“波動”などの単語です」

■ワクチン懐疑派を支持者に取り込んだ参政党

　他にも“集団ストーキング”や“柔軟剤”などの単語も多く見られたという。

　「柔軟剤というワードがワクチンとどう関係しているのか不思議に感じられるかもしれませんが、人工物を嫌う“自然派”的な考え方の人たちもワクチン懐疑派になりやすい傾向があるようです。そうした人たちが柔軟剤の弊害について多くツイートしているのでしょう」

　「これは、参議院選挙の影響だと思われます。この時参政党は、反ワクチンの態度を前面に押し出して選挙戦を戦っていたようです。今回の分析の結果、コロナ禍以降に新規にワクチン懐疑的な傾向を持つようになったユーザーは、陰謀論や自然派、スピリチュアルな世界観をきっかけに、ワクチン懐疑的な態度を持ち、さらに反ワクチンを政治信条に掲げた政党への支持を高めた可能性が示唆されていると考えます」

■陰謀論を強く打ち出した方針は結果的に成功している

　この結果を別の角度から見ると、参政党を支持した一部の人たちは、コロナ禍以前はさほど政治に興味がなかったのかもしれない。しかし、コロナ禍での参政党の政治信条に触れることで、政治に興味を持つことになったということもあるのだろう。参政党への支持はそうした側面もあるように思われる。（以下ソース）

Bubbles enjoys quiet moments and painting. He gives the canvas back only when he is finished and does not limit his painting to the canvas!
